As you know the Government has launched the Central Supplier Database on 1 September 2015. One of the purposes is "the establishment of a Central Supplier Database (CSD) that will result in one single database to serve as the source of all supplier information for all spheres of government.

How to Register on the Central Supplier Database

On 28 September 2015 How2Tender.com published an article about the Government's Central Supplier Database and the fact that each and every business that wants to do business with South African Organs of Sate has to register on this database. Since then we had an overwhelming response from Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise (SMME's) owners requesting us to help them to register on the Central supplier Database.

Registering On The Central Supplier Database

On 1 September 2015 the Government's Central Supplier Database was launched by Minister of finance Mr Nhlanhla Nene. The idea behind the Central Supplier Database is to centralise supplier's data to simplify Government's procurement processes. It also aims to reduce costs to both Government as well as Suppliers to Government.

I often wonder what the use is to register as a supplier on a supplier database of Organs of State. I mean to say, I have registered with more Organs of State than I can remember and I really can`t say that me or the companies I have registered have received any work from these Organs of State purely on the basis of our registration.
